Patient Expense Reimbursement

Many patients are financially stressed, and their health insurance is unlikely to pay the cost of travel in any trial. Sponsors and trial CRO are at high risk of GDPR issues if they engage directly in any way with patient data. Without reimbursement of expenses and even pre-payment, if necessary, patients can drop out of a trial.

Where allowed under national regulations, and approved by the trial EC through our affiliated company WeReimburse we provide simple GDPR compliant reimbursement, direct to the patient, or to a national patient taxi company such as Bonotaxi in Spain. This avoids the very high costs of the industry debit card approach, the risk of email of private data, and patient uploading of receipts.
